Because after The Matrix, Keanu was under the illusion that he is some sort of Martial Arts action star. He recently directed a MA film called "Man of Tai Chi" (it was just sad). Since he can't get any "real" acting gigs this is the only genre he has left.

He gets these kind of roles, and you know what favorite part of his was? Falco in The Replacements.

I'm actually very much looking forward to this movie, if only because in addition to being a car nerd, I'm a tabletop RPG geek that's been playing in a campaign for the last two years based loosely off of Feudal Japan, complete with samurai, magic, and yes, even dragons.

I was listening to the TV, heard them say something about ronins, and looked up to see monsters and shit. If I want weird in my Japanese there's plenty of anime out there.
